CNG & Dual Fuel Frequently Asked Questions
Compressed Natural Gas is a naturally occurring gas which is compressed down to less than 1% of the volume it occupies at standard atmospheric pressure.
Natural Gas conversions are suggested for Dual-Fuel Diesel vehicles, specifically for larger engines such as trucks, buses, etc. And can also be used on smaller engine Petrol vehicles.
Converting your truck / bus to run on CNG will create a dual-fuel engine, blending together Diesel and CNG at a correct ratio in order to reduce the amount of Diesel being sprayed into the engine.
As you are blending two fuels together, the savings will be calculated from the amount of Diesel that is substituted with gas, however a good estimation is around 25% savings.
If you run out of CNG, the system will automatically switch over to 100% diesel operation.
Yes, you can. However, there are certain aspects to be considered when converting your petrol vehicle to run on CNG.
